Submission Overview
Health Innovation Journal Asia (HIJ Asia) invites original research articles, reviews, case reports, short communications, and letters to the editor. We prioritize research that addresses health challenges and innovations specifically within the Asian continent. Only original manuscripts not under consideration or previously published elsewhere will be accepted.
Submission Process
Manuscripts must be submitted online via the HIJ Asia OJS website. The corresponding author should register or log into an account to navigate the five-step submission process.
- Anonymization: To facilitate double-blind peer review, the main manuscript file must be anonymized (excluding authors' names and affiliations).
- Metadata: Author details must be provided separately in the OJS metadata section during submission.
- Supplementary Files: Datasets, ethical approval letters, and fee vouchers can be uploaded as "Supplementary Files".
Language and Formatting
- Language: English (British or American usage must be consistent throughout).
- Font & Spacing: Times New Roman, size 12, justified alignment, single line spacing.
- Tables & Figures: Should be inserted in appropriate locations within the text (not at the end), with clear captions.

Content Guidelines
- Title: Should indicate study design, objectives, variables, population, and location (e.g., "in Southeast Asia"). Avoid abbreviations.
- Keywords: Include 5–10 keywords from MeSH (Medical Subject Headings).
- Abbreviations & Units: Use standard abbreviations; introduce at first mention. Use SI units. Generic drug names are preferred.
- References: Follow Vancouver style; number sequentially as cited in the text. List up to 6 authors; for more than 6, use "et al." Abbreviate journal titles per Index Medicus/PubMed.
Ethical Considerations
Authors must obtain Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval and informed consent for all human and animal studies. These must be explicitly declared in the Methodology section. Potential conflicts of interest must be disclosed.
Publication Fees and Waiver Policy
HIJ Asia operates as an Open Access journal supported by Article Processing Charges (APCs).
- Submission Fee: None.
- Asian Authors: USD 100 (Standard Fee).
- International Authors: USD 150.
- Waiver Policy: We offer a case-by-case assessment for authors unable to afford fees, with priority given to students and researchers from low-resource regions in Asia.
Copyright and Funding
Copyright & Access: HIJ Asia provides immediate open access under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 License (CC BY 4.0). Authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication.
Funding Disclosure: Authors must disclose all funding sources and grant numbers in a dedicated section. This ensures transparency and helps track research impact.
